New Accessories Holder

Hi

Just thought Id do a quick post while I'm waiting for my tie dye hair to develop!

I had a big tidy out in my room and had a whole load of belts that didn't really have a home, so I found them one!

This is my mannequin from uni and its my new accessories holder.
Ive just simply put all my belts round this and any other bits and bobs that didn't have home.
The shall is one I made from a scarf and cant wait to wear this summer, I might have to add a bit of fringing to it.

What do you think?
This a nifty idea or what!

Icon: Clarissa Darling + Mini Haul

'Allo!

So, the last time my other half was home we went for a sneaky Starbucks and the first thing he said to me was "You well look like Clarissa today"
I couldn't think of a better compliment!
Clarissa (1991-1994), was one of my fave programmes as a kid, I thought she was the height of cool!

The few bits and bobs of clothing I've bought this month have definitely been 90's inspired.
I thought I'd put together a lil' collage.

First up is a bit of a style board I put together from Google (soz Google) of images of Clarissa!

Everything in this is awesome!
The denim cut offs and neon slouchy tees, the denim waistcoat, high waisted, cold shoulder, crazy-ass prints! Hello, I love it.

Cut off Denim Jacket - TKMaxx £11.69

My best bargain of the month was definitely this cropped, cut off sleeve black denim jacket.
Was so cheap with my staff discount at TKMaxx.
Not as amazing as Clarissa's dark pink number above but hey ho.
Its frayed, its rough, its perfect and feels good quality too.

Smiley Face Tee - Republic £12

Next up, the more out there thing I own as its tacky as hell but I was drawn to it.
This was £12 with 20% off in store that day at Republic.
I bought it a few sizes bigger to wear as a dress with leggings.
Not with tights as shown! That was a bad idea...
Its rolled up sleeves and grunge vibes make me happy.

Denim Stud Dress - TKMaxx £10

And last is this denim dress with stud detail on the neck and straps.
Again with staff discount, a tenner.
This is girly and grungy and surprisingly light and comfy for denim.
Be perfect for easy dressing in summer.
Throw on some stompy boots or spiked sandals depending on the weather.

Is everyone loving that the 90's are back?
Who'd have thought this would all be back so soon!

River Island White Cut Out Boots:

Hi!

So for about a month I have been swooning over the black Jeffrey Campbell Coltranes and praying that come pay day I found some in stock somewhere!
Alas, this did not happen.
In my hours spent drooling over photos on google I started to be really drawn to the white versions, which were in stock in office!
The only thing holding me back was price.
I thought Id have a look on all high street websites to try and find some cheaper.
Oh boy did I find some!
I had two black pairs and this white pair, which I eventually bought, and showed them to my fiance to see which he preferred.
He chose the white and I'm so glad he did cos I thought they were a bit too "out there"!
I placed an order straight away with next day delivery and I couldn't be happier!

Here are some images:

White Cut Out Boots: River Island £65

They are a bit more difficult to style, the whole black tights white shoes taboo!
So far they do look best with black and white items, ankle grazers look especially good.
They are comfy to wear all day and I'm usually a complainer!
They look awesome with ankle socks.
I just need to be braver and wear them more often!

What do you guys think?
Would you rock a white shoe?

Sky Nails:

Hi!

Just a quick one today to share how pretty my nails are!
(If I do say so myself)

I used a blue Barry M background then used two different whites for the clouds.
I first used a white that takes a few coats and then went over in a thick white nail art pen.
I like the effect of the two whites as it looks a bit 3D.
I then used a black nail art pen to create random V birdie shapes.
A matte topcoat worked well with this as it emphasised the 3D clouds.

What do you think of this pretty design?
Would you give it a go?

Belgium Break + Reviews

Hey there!

A couple months ago it was my 5th anniversary with my fiance and seeing as he is teaching in Belgium for quite a while, what better present than to take a trip to see him!

This was my first time ever on a plane and I had to do it solo.
I was terrified.
I was nervous right up till the Matrix moment of going above the clouds!
I have never seen anything so beautiful.

I didn't really take too many snaps as I always forget but these are some of my fave that I did manage to take.

Awesome looking building. I can imagine if it wasn't -2 and windy as hell and glorious sunshine instead, it would have been incredible!

Look at that amazing graffiti birdie =] although he does look kinda shifty.

I had the sudden realisation while over there that there are french speaking Belgium people, maybe the chemists would sell french skincare!
Oh my, I was in heaven!
I realised with horror I hadn't took nearly enough money with me for that!
I did however manage to pick some bits up.

Here's some mini reviews for ya!

17 Lasting Fix Polish in Pink Grapefruit:
I actually bought this in the airport cos I forgot to pack anything nail related.
It is such a summery and happy colour and I thought it would go well with all the black, white and grey I wear!
It is one of those polishes that take a million coats to look good which is abit disappointing.
I used this while waiting too which got a few funny looks.

Bioderma Sensibo H2O:
I wont go into this too much as everyone loves this.
I knew when I saw it that I couldn't not get it, I'd wanted to try it for so long so I picked up this tiny bottle.
Damn hand luggage limits!
This is just the best for removing makeup, even heavy eyeliner.
It's so gentle on the eyes and that's one of the things I worry about!

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser:
I had a sample of this ages ago and loved it, I just never got round to ever buying it.
When I saw it in the airport I just had to!
It really is gentle enough to use every day, it leaves my skin so soft and plump feeling.
It#s just perfect for when you've had a face full of makeup and just want to feel extra clean!
It has a very natural but a bit citrusy smell which isn't overpowering at all, it adds to the clean feel when you use it.

Overall I had an amazing time away.
I ate some amazing food (goats cheese and honey on home made Guiness bread anyone?!) and drank the most amazing cherry beer!
It would have been perfect if it wasn't for all the cold and windburn and snow!

Anyone else tried this Clarins cleanser? Id like to know if anyone else loves it as much as I do!

Love Nina.

DIY: Flower Stud Bracelet

Hello!

I do love a good DIY post so thought I'd share this particular piece with you all.

I make these knitted multi-wear jewellery pieces and this one is particularly on trend with all the pastel and studs that are knocking about.
And with festival season coming up this is right up that street.

This is a lilac and gold stud version and I just love the look of the colours together.
These items can be worn as a bracelet, necklace and also a headband.
The latter looking awesome if I do say so myself!
I think this would be perfect for spring/ summer.

I have other bits like this in different colours and adornments, so if anyone would like to see those then just leave a comment =]

What will be your summer staples?

Love, Nina

Knuckle Tatt Nails!

Hi!

Hope everyone is Ok.
The snow has been horrible in the UK as of late.
I used to love snow until I started working, now its just a pain.
Nothing worse than being in work and being told all buses home are cancelled!

Anywhoo!
I thought I'd show this little beaut of nail art.
I went to London at the start of the month and I'm one of these people that if a special occasion happens, I paint nails!
So I found this design in the Wah nail book.

This took me a good 2 hours to do.
I used a pale blue as the base and then my bargain nail art pens I found in Primark.
The LOVE took a while to do as I had to master writing curves with my left hand!
I then finished off the look with a heart and an anchor for my thumbs.

I think this would look amazing on some pointed false nails!

Does anyone else have the Wah book?
Its amazing!

Love
Nina xx
